Volunteering in Uganda Uganda is one of the most beautiful countries in Africa, with fantastic natural scenery that is home to half of the world's remaining mountain Gorilla population. It offers world-class white water rafting at the mouth of nile and hosts some of the region's more peaceful national parks. There are mountainous areas where you can see the Gorillas in their natural habitat and sprawling Savannas where you can look out for Lions and Giraffes.

Uganda is an East African state with huge areas of fertile soil and many lakes. The north western part of Victoria lake boasts the world’s third largest lake. Yet still, very few tourists come to visit this country, leaving large amounts of the country untouched.

The official language of Uganda is English although a large amount of the population speaks Swahilli and other local tribal languages like Luganda. In spite of the recent improvements many of the areas of the country remain devastatingly poor and there is a real need for volunteers to help with the countries educational and social development.
