The sleepy town of Mae Hong Son lies to the north west of Chiang Mai and is located on the Burmese border. Our volunteers work with several schools for Burmese refugees and at a local orphanage for Shan (Burmese) children.
Nongkhai located on the Laos border in North Eastern Thailand is Travel to Teach's original and most estabilished volunteer location. The small city still boasts our widest range of teaching projects and provides a perfect location for first time volunteers.
We have volunteer programs located in 4 different Temples surorunding Nongkhai. Volunteer stay in receiving lessons in meditation and Buddhism whilst teaching English within their temple or at a nearby school.
Travel to Teach has volunteer homestay programs in small villages throughout Thailand where volunteers can choose to live with a teacher's family, in a house owned by their school or with a local familly.
