Travel to Teach Nepal Personnel


Staff Pic Asim
Asim, T2T's partner in Nepal, directs our Nepali programs. He lives with his wife Namrata and his two young sons Narawas and Nirnaya, at the Happy Home Children's Care House. Asim has nearly 20 years experience working with volunteers and managing programs for various NGO's and has travelled to the UK as part of a cultural exchange program. His interests include working in the theatre and writing plays, he has also made one series for Nepali National Television.

Staff Pic Bicky
Bicky is our Nepal Program Director and Co-coordinator. With over 6 years experience working with volunteers, Bicky is responsible for co-coordinating our volunteers and scheduling their training programs as well as matching each volunteers to suitable programs. Bicky has travelled extensively around Nepal and also been to Holland and China as part of volunteer exchange programs. As well as travel his interests include social work, especially with orphanage projects and in the local communities surrounding our projects.

Staff Pic Namrata
Namrata is the Mother of 5 year old Nawaras, 1 year old Nirnaya and all the children at Happy Home. She has six years experience working with volunteers. She is very generous with her time, along with being a busy mum, she tutors the volunteers in Nepali Customs and helps the volunteers shop in Kathmandu to make sure they get the right prices, especially for female volunteers getting Kurta Shalwars and Saris. (Typical Nepali dress). Namrata is a warm and friendly person and provides a family feel for the volunteers when they stay at the Happy Home.

Staff Pic Rama
Rama is a co-coordinator, supporting volunteers throughout their training in Kathmandu. Rama also takes the female volunteers for shopping and sightseeing. Rama also teaches Nepali language as well as accompanying the volunteers to their placements to settle them in. Rama is a very friendly and open girl with very good English. Rama has visited Thailand, Burma, Mongolia and China during her studies.

Staff Pic Kerstin
Swedish consultant who left behind a long career in Swedish local and regional agencies to set up and manage Travel-to-Teach. She operates from a house in the center of Nongkhai, Thailand. Kerstin's essays, written in Swedish, are syndicated to magazines on Scandinavian airlines destined for BKK.

Staff Pic Jessica
Jessica, from the US, worked in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, and also has a background in Anthropology and Archaeology. She was a volunteer with T2T in the beginning of 2005, she is now our Out of Country Co-ordinator and also helps volunteers in Nong Khai and runs the weekly volunteer meetings.

Staff Pic Rick
Rick initially came to Thailand as a travel to teach volunteer before becoming our coordinator in Namsom and Pai. Now Rick is responsible for all Thailand bookings and oversees all our locations In Thailand.

Staff Pic David
David a Computer Science graduate from the UK and former Phon Phisai volunteer runs the Travel to Teach website. He is also designing a database to automate our application procedure's and helping with co-ordinating our IT programs, our network and general IT problems.

Pim is another former FGCC student who is currently studying Political Science with Ramkhamhang Open University in Bangkok. Pim works in our Nongkhai head office managing our accounts.

Out of Country Staff


Staff Pic Charlotte
Charlotte, a Media and Communications major from England, joined T2T in 2005 and worked as our business development manager in Nongkhai. She has now returned to England where she will continue to help with marketing Travel to Teach.

Staff Pic Darcy
Darcy Tucker is our USA Representative. She has extensive experience traveling throughout South East Asia as well as Europe, South America, Central America and the USA. She has lived/worked/studied/traveled in over 25 countries. Based in New York City, she currently works as a project manager for the non-profit group New Leaders for New Schools. Darcy comes from a family of many educators, has worked in for-profit and non-profit contexts and has taught English overseas. In her free time she enjoys planning her next holiday, scuba diving, reading, cooking and dancing to 80's music.
