Born in Dunkwa Offin, Stephen has his Masters in Science and Electrical Engineering, and is currently working on another Masters in Economic Policy Management at University of Ghana, which he will complete by the end of 2009. Stephen and Theresa have successfully created this program in Ghana because they both share the same belief, that the amazing power of volunteering abroad will educate and promote sustainability within Ghana. Stephen creates a safe and positive experience for all the volunteers that choose this program.

Born in Wa in the upper west region of Ghana, Theresa is a human rights advocate with a Bachelors in Educational Psychology from the University of Cape Coast, and a Bachelors in Law from the University of Ghana. She worked with an exchange program for 2 years as a program coordinator before deciding to partner up with Stephen Duodo in 2003 to start the program in Ghana. This relationship has been very effective because of their experience in volunteer, administration and program management. She has a passion to help others, and her understanding of different cultures has made her an expert in directing volunteer abroad projects in Ghana.

Community Liaisons Officer
Mankama has a Bachelors of Business Administration from the Islamic University, and Accounting from the University of Ghana-Legon. He became inspired to take-up other responsibilities that contribute to creating the public awareness on women and child rights especially in his community.

His knowledge in tourism within Ghana has given him the opportunity to work as the program’s tour guide and he successfully shows all volunteers what his beautiful country has to offer. He has excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills. With his understanding of the diverse cultures in Ghana, he is the responsible liaison between community heads, leaders and volunteers.

Volunteer Coordinator
Joan was born and raised in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. Before becoming the volunteer coordinator of Ghana, she worked with a number of organizations including the Ghana ports and harbor authorities, and several job placement agencies. Joan is enthusiastic and passionate about her job. She wants to provide the ideal support and assistance to volunteers from their arrival to the end of their stay in Ghana. She picks up volunteers at the airport upon arrival, and takes them to their home stay accommodation. Joan is very approachable and is always eager to help volunteers.
