Fifty plus

Volunteering is not only for students. If you are over 50, you have plenty of skills to offer and are an ideal candidate for volunteering.

No matter how old you are volunteering will give you a purpose to your travels, allow you to explore places off the beaten track and let you live among the communities you are helping.

At Travel to Teach we appreciate that you may want a certain degree of comfort and we will be happy to help you find suitable accommodation in a location of your choice. Contact us for further details.

Whatever your interests, there is always something that you can do.

"My name is Kerstin Ahlzen. I founded Travel to Teach not long after turning 58 and not long after arriving in Thailand. I initially came to Thailand to teach English and I, like many other new voluntary teachers, was nervous. Before long these nerves disappeared and within two months I was teaching four different subjects! There is no end to how resourceful one becomes when faced with a new environment, in a totally new context, and a totally new country.

The majority of our participants are aged between 18 and 30, however, we do accommodate for the more mature, and enjoy a good mix of all age groups, nationalities, and gender.

We offer special discounts and programmes for groups. So, if you are able to convince some of your friends that they should join you in experiencing a chance in a lifetime you will not regret it and you will find that it would be more than worth your while!"

If you have any doubts or concerns, why not contact us and let us try and persuade you!

"I have the strong belief that the best help one can give a country or a person is education."

Kerstin Ahlzen, Founder of Travel to Teach.

This was my first time in a different country. I came to Pai not expecting to teach the kids very much because of the language barrier, but it just made it all the more fun and exiting....

There is no age limit to being a Travel-to-Teach volunteer. I would recommend this experience to everyone. I always felt safe in Thailand and arrived home fitter and healthier than I have been for a long time.
