Why Choose Travel to Teach?

Travel to Teach was created by volunteers for volunteers.

Travel to Teach started life as a small volunteer placement in Nongkhai, Thailand. Through the support of our volunteers and the quality of our programmes we have grown into an international volunteer organisation with over thirty projects in over ten countries in the developing world..

Ethical Volunteering

We strive to develop our programs according to the guidelines for ethical volunteering as we:

  • Employ local people from the communities within which we work.
  • Are open as to how our volunteer fees are spent.
  • Describe our programs as truthfully as possible.

Information and Openness

  • We have email addresses of previous
  • volunteers who have written stories about their stay. You can read their volunteer stories and also contact them directly to ask them about their time with Travel to Teach.
  • We have a number of photo galleries and also some video diaries of Travel to Teach volunteer life. We feel these features of our web site help prospective volunteers make a considered decision when choosing a volunteer program.
  • We aim to ensure that our website contains current and accurate information about our projects. If any changes occur during the application process, applicants will be fully informed.

Combinations

We have a lot of set options for combining volunteering in multiple places within one country or between countries and we are very flexible and open to variations of them. Conditions are that we ask you to stay a minimum of at least one month in each country.

Level of Support

We have both westerners and/or people from the respective country as coordinators in all of our placements. Head office are also contactable twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Prices

Travel to Teach is a non profit organisation based in Thailand. Since all of our staff are either at the head office in Thailand or at our project locations we are able to avoid paying high western overheads to keep our volunteer fees at a minimum.

You can read more on how we distribute our fees and compare our prices to other organisations by clicking on the links above.

I arrived on the final day of the great festival of Song Kran in the beautiful land of smiles. I made my way to Nongkhai where I was welcomed by a great group of other T2T volunteers. Who would have thought that this was the beginning to a life changing experience...
